Written Language

During writing lessons, the following components will be used or seen:

– A purpose for writing will be determined

– Learning intentions and success criteria will be co constructed

– Pre writing activities

– Modelling by the teacher

– Independent writing by children

– Conferencing

– Use of exemplars

– Individual goals from feed back and feed forward

– Feedback feed forward strategies are ongoing

– Writing will be by, and with and for the children

 

Spelling

– The spelling programme is based on cihldren’s writing needs

– All children will work towards mastery of essential word lists
